The Influence of Feminine
The Feminine exerts an influence in the novel in several ways. The women are the peace-keepers through-out the story and keep total chaos from breaking loose. Grendel views them with curiosity and apprehension and though he thinks many times about killing them, he never does. Women bring stability to the novel and to Grendel. They are the only thing that is real and loyal, which causes Grendel not to kill them.
